A new rhizome planting machine for miscanthus and other root crops, developed in-house by Miscanthus Technology. The machine is built around the specific demands of planting miscanthus and offers the best balance of quality and price on the specialised equipment market.
The quality of planting determines the yield for all 20 years of a plantation's life. Working by hand, it is difficult to hold both an even depth and the required rate of 20,000–22,000 rhizomes per hectare — and that is precisely what establishment depends on, which reaches around 86% when the technology is followed. Our machine holds an even spacing, depth and rate across the whole field.
Why plant miscanthus mechanically
Consistency. Even row spacing, depth and plant spacing across the whole area — the foundation of a high establishment rate.
Speed within the seasonal window. Miscanthus has to be planted inside a narrow spring window, and mechanised planting delivers the necessary pace.
Control. The hydraulics set the rotation speed of the planting discs independently of the tractor's movement, while row spacing, depth and plant spacing adjust easily to your technology.
