Why the First Year Decides Your Yield for 20 Years
Miscanthus is a perennial crop: a plantation produces on the same field for around 20 years. That means the quality of planting in the first year sets the result for two decades ahead. Wrong depth, density or timing, and part of the rhizomes will not establish — and you cannot fix that on a mature plantation.
To prevent this, we provide the right machinery and agronomic support. When the technology is followed, the establishment rate of Terravesta Athena rhizomes reaches around 86%.

Planting Technology

Density — 20,000–22,000 rhizomes per hectare. We determine the exact rate through a site audit: soil analysis, water availability, annual rainfall, terrain and minimum seasonal temperatures.

Timing — the optimal planting window is spring, so plantation establishment is planned in advance.

Preparation — the field is prepared for mechanized planting according to the agronomic plan we draw up for your site.

We own rhizome planters — despite the common belief that there is no machinery for mechanized miscanthus planting in Ukraine.

Machine rental — UAH 4,000/ha (VAT included), subject to rhizome purchase. Our engineer calibrates the machine for your field. Delivery of the machine is at the customer's expense.
