About Miscanthus Technology
Miscanthus Technology LLC is a Ukrainian nursery of energy miscanthus, founded in 2023. We grow planting material on our own industrial plantation, supply rhizomes to agriholdings, municipalities and farms across Ukraine, and support client projects from the first consultation to the point where the plantation reaches a stable yield.
Founders and Team
The company's co-founder is Vadym Krychkovskyi, a PhD in Agronomy and a farmer with many years of hands-on experience. He lectures at the Department of Crop Production and Horticulture of Vinnytsia National Agrarian University and runs his own farm, Organik-D LLC, in the Vinnytsia region, where he also grows miscanthus. This combination of academic agronomy and industrial practice lets us test our own agrotechnologies in our own fields — and offer clients only solutions that are already proven.
Variety and Official Registration
We propagate the Miscanthus × giganteus Terravesta Athena variety — a sterile, non-invasive, drought-tolerant hybrid from the British company Terravesta, a leader in the European energy-miscanthus market. This variety is officially registered in Ukraine: it holds registration certificate No. 24553001 and patent No. 250152. As a result, the origin of every batch of rhizomes we supply to clients is documented.
Partnerships and International Projects
Miscanthus Technology is the official partner of Terravesta in Ukraine. We are also the Ukrainian partner of the international Innovate Ukraine Round 2 project, funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO). Among our active projects is the establishment of a miscanthus plantation in the Teofipol community in the Khmelnytskyi region — set to become Ukraine's first municipal miscanthus plantation. The community will use the biomass to produce pellets on its own municipal line, a complete "land — feedstock — fuel" cycle within a single community.
What We Do
We don't just sell rhizomes — we build plantations together with our clients:
-
Certified Terravesta Athena rhizomes — wholesale batches with origin documentation.
-
Full agronomic support from site selection to a stable yield of around 20 tonnes of biomass per hectare from the fourth year. Included in the partnership at no extra charge.
-
A financial model for the client's specific area — so you can see payback and profit 20 years ahead, rather than dealing in abstractions.
-
Our Goal
Miscanthus Technology's strategic goal is to establish an industrial miscanthus plantation covering 2,500 hectares using marginal lands. We are building a scalable green-energy model that restores degraded areas, absorbs CO₂, creates jobs in the regions and develops the circular economy in Ukraine.
